Our Awesome Field Trip to see the Carousels

All of the kids were able to ride an 80 year-old carousel. The Museum of Idaho had an amazing display of carousels and all kinds of animals from carousels from all over the world. They were remarkable. We have been working on adjectives and some of the kids found horses that were exquisite, colorful, outstanding, interesting, dingy, exceptional, kid-friendly, enjoyable, old-fashioned. It was so much fun to listen to them coming up with ways to described them instead of saying cool or neat.

We had a blast eating and playing at the Park but the whole trip really wore the kids out.  This much learning can be exhausting!

Who is Jackson Pollock?

For our story The Art Lesson, we are studying several different artists. We learned about Jackson Pollock, who was born in Wyoming and was called the Cowboy Artist. He invented the Drip Technique. We thought it was interesting that his brushes never touched the canvas. We had a blast using his technique. Each painting had a cool name and was painted by promising artists!
