Grow True, Grow Proud, Grow Strong

As our Back-to-School celebration and to launch our theme for the year, we had a fun assembly. We unveiled a Jefferson tree which will change throughout the year. We watched a slide show of the teachers and staff showing how we have grown since we were children. We explained that all living things need water to grow. The Pocatello Fire Department came and watered the students to help them grow. I predict a super year of growing true, growing proud and growing strong.

A Royal Welcome to Second Grade

The first day of school was great.  We read a awesome book called King Bidgood's in the Bathtub and did a writing activity.  We played Purple Stew which helped us get to know each other.  We did a math activity with patterning.  A highlight of the day was our Royal Tea Party (minus the tea).  Next week we will be reading a book called Dragon Gets By which focuses on nutrition.  Super class!
