Making Gingerbread Houses

Miss Jensen and Mrs. Commons helped us make gingerbread houses. Mr. Terry made houses out of Styrofoam which made them much easier to decorate. We had tons of choices of candy. We had to promise that we wouldn't eat them until we got home. We had a lot of fun being so creative.

Big Bushy Mustaches

One of the stories in our reading book is called Big Bushy Mustache. It is a fun story. To introduce congruence, we made mustaches. The kids looked adorable!

Count down to 2012

Each child made a chain with 21 links on it. They attached it to a subtraction bell. Each day they took off the links. Weekends were tricky. They wrote subtraction equations on the bell. It was a lot of fun. We will concentrate on subtraction a lot in January.

We learned about citizenship from Ms. Amy

Miss Amy Armstrong taught us about good citizens like Clara Barton, Jackie Robinson, John F. Kennedy, Jr., Rosa Park and Abraham Lincoln. She taught us about the importance of recycling. She helped us make Silhouette Books. She taught us to vote on what type of goodbye party to have. We chose a Sundae Party. Miss Amy is going to be a great teacher.
