Christmas Fun
Santa came to visit our class, we sang Christmas Carols and then each of the kids passed out the gifts they brought for each of the other kids. It was super fun and a great way to start Christmas break!
Countdown to Christmas
Each child made a Countdown bell with their 5th grade Big Buddies. We started with 20 rings and tore one off everyday and wrote the subtraction equations. It was fun to watch the chains shrink and it was a great lesson in subtraction.
Christmas Trees made by Grandma Hatton
My mom, Doreen Hatton made a beaded Christmas Tree for each of the kids. They were able to chose which one they wanted. They really turned out great and the kids loved them. We wrote 'Grandma Hatton' a thank you book, which she loved! The kids were adorable with the trees. They carried them around and held them a lot. It was so much fun!

Shaving Cream Spelling Practice
We were learning about the difference spelling ai words vs. ay words, which is a really tough concept and uses mostly memory skills. So, we practiced in shaving cream. It became a sensory situation and amazingly helped test scores. Not to mention, it was tons of fun!
